What does it mean to convert to a long lease?
This option allows you to convert the lease to a longer time frame and it provides the lessee with the security to remain on the land during that time. While the lessee can build a home and reside on the parcel, ownership of the freehold title will remain with the Crown. *

Do I qualify for this option?
This option is open to applicants over the age of sixty (60) or those who suffer from a debilitating illness. All applicants must reside in the TCI and occupy the property as their primary residence at the time the application is submitted. It also extends to executors of estate for qualified persons who have passed.*

How do I apply for Option 3?
Applicants must complete an Option 3 application form and submit it along with:

A valid ID (e.g. Passport, Driver's Licence, Turks and Caicos Islander Status Card, etc.)

Medical certificate (if applicable) to show the applicant is suffering from a debilitating illness

A utility bill in the name of the lessee showing proof of primary residence -OR- a utility bill in the name of the deceased if applicable as an executor of estate

A letter from a financial institution showing that the lessee does not qualify for a mortgage

Grant of Letters of Administration or Probate (if applicable)
What does it mean to adjust the parcel?
This option allows eligible persons to reduce or reconfigure their parcel size or possibly exchange it in extreme cases.*

Do I qualify for this option?
This option is open to Residential CPL holders and Offer Letter holders of said parcel who have evidence to support that they can afford the reduced parcel. It also extends to executors of estate for qualified persons who have passed.*
