What does it mean to convert to a long lease?

This option allows you to convert the lease to a longer time frame and it provides the lessee with the security to remain on the land during that time. While the lessee can build a home and reside on the parcel, ownership of the freehold title will remain with the Crown. *

If eligible for this option, you can:

  • Extend the duration of your lease

  • Remain on the parcel

  • All the primary benefits of the Amnesty Programme

Do I qualify for this option?

This option is open to applicants over the age of sixty (60) or those who suffer from a debilitating illness. All applicants must reside in the TCI and occupy the property as their primary residence at the time the application is submitted. It also extends to executors of estate for qualified persons who have passed.*

How do I apply for Option 3?

Applicants must complete an Option 3 application form and submit it along with:

  • The $100 application fee

  • A valid ID (e.g. Passport, Driver's Licence, Turks and Caicos Islander Status Card, etc.)

  • Medical certificate (if applicable) to show the applicant is suffering from a debilitating illness

  • A utility bill in the name of the lessee showing proof of primary residence -OR- a utility bill in the name of the deceased if applicable as an executor of estate

  • A letter from a financial institution showing that the lessee does not qualify for a mortgage

  • Grant of Letters of Administration or Probate (if applicable)

What does it mean to adjust the parcel?

This option allows eligible persons to reduce or reconfigure their parcel size or possibly exchange it in extreme cases.*

If eligible for this option, you can:

  • Reconfigure the parcel to a size you can afford

  • Exchange the parcel*

  • All the primary benefits of the Amnesty Programme

Do I qualify for this option?

This option is open to Residential CPL holders and Offer Letter holders of said parcel who have evidence to support that they can afford the reduced parcel. It also extends to executors of estate for qualified persons who have passed.*

How do I apply for Option 4?

Applicants must complete an Option 4 application form and submit it along with:

  • The $100 application fee

  • A valid ID (e.g. Passport, Driver's Licence, Turks and Caicos Islander Status Card, etc.)

  • Grant of Letters of Administration or Probate (if applicable)

Pay in installments

There's an option for me to pay in installments?

Absolutely! This option allows you to set up a payment plan for the parcel and pay off the cost of the freehold title over a set amount of time.*

Flexible Payment Plans are available for periods up to 5 years

For Payment Plans up to 12 months, no interest applied

If eligible for this option, you can:

  • Secure the freehold title to your parcel via installments

  • Have outstanding rent waived upon conversion to freehold title

  • All the primary benefits of the Amnesty Programme

What does it mean to purchase the freehold title?

Purchasing the freehold title means you will own the land. Outstanding arrears in rent can be written off, and the parcel could be yours with full payment.*

If eligible for this option, you can:

  • Secure the freehold title to your parcel

  • Have outstanding rent waived upon conversion to freehold title

  • All the primary benefits of the Amnesty Programme

Do I qualify for this option?

This option is open to those with an expired Registered Conditional Purchase Lease and/or an Offer Letter. It also extends to executors of estate for qualified persons who have passed.*
